Chocolate Chunk Easter Bunny Cookies

I got an expected and early Easter gift. A solid milk chocolate Easter bunny hopped into a basket and landed on my doorstep.

I shouldn’t eat milk chocolate because it contains lactose (although dark chocolate is fine.) It isn’t that I don’t like milk chocolate. Large quantities of milk chocolate don’t always like me. Sad face.

Refusing the gift from Hershey would be rude and a crime against chocolate.

Let me be clear. I go out of my way not to commit crimes. I just do not have the time for such a time consuming hobby like that. There’s the plotting. And the sneaking. Eventually there is the running from the investigators of the eight thousand CSI shows out there. I do not want to even think about the awful cheap hotels that I would stay in while on the lam! Shudder

Not to mention, it always ends in a new wardrobe of black and white stripy pajamas and let me tell you I look horrible in horizontal stripes.

How to Make Orange Citrus Cleaner the Lazy Way

Once upon a time, my neighbor’s cat kept getting sick. Her vet said the floor cleaner she uses made her kitty sick. Poor kitty!

I’m pretty darn fond of my dog (to put it in not Crazy Dog Lady language) but not vet bills for things I can easily avoid. I looked all over to replace my cleaners with pet safe versions. I left the store empty handed and frustrated because companies do not have to print ingredient lists on cleaning product labels – so they don’t.

I could take the lazy way out and never clean the house for the safety of my dog but clutter makes me cranky. You do not want to see me cranky. Think a very short and very pale She Hulk kind of cranky. Not good.

I knew frugal and green folks cleaned with vinegar because a 5% acidity solution of white vinegar will clean and disinfect a counter top (although you don’t want to use it to clean marble or natural stone because it will ruin the finish), deter a kitchen ant invasion, and kill mold and mildew in the bathroom.

Grandma's Hamburger Pie Recipe

As an adventurous foodie, you might think I grew up with homemade gourmet meals.

Most of my childhood meals were made with ingredients from a box or a can. My mom's favorite spices are salt and pepper while my spice rack is as big as my pantry door is long.  Mom makes basic food like her mother's hamburger pie. That's not a bad thing. It is a different than I cook now thing.

10 Homemade Dog Treat Recipes - Including Allergy Free

Baking is my moment of Zen. I really mean moment – it takes about a moment to dump a bunch of stuff in the bread maker and turn it on.

Well that’s not entirely true. I like to bake cookies and eating them even more. I just lost some junk from my trunk and while I want to bake, I don’t want to eat extra sweets.

Fortunately, I now have someone who likes homemade cookies that I will not be tempted to eat – meet our new dog Lacey!

Hello. My name is Lacey.

Lacey is a fear aggressive Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Dachshund mix. You can read Lacey’s story and the amazing act of love that brought us together here.

We are working with a behaviorist to help Lacey using positive reinforcement training. When I catch Lacey doing something right, I praise her and immediately reward her with a treat.

Lacey like positive reinforcement training very much.

Lacey has issues. I am going through a lot of treats.

Let’s bake some!

Seven Ways to Use Shampoo

I have to fight an avalanche of shampoo bottles every time I open the linen closet. It has nothing to do with extreme couponing. It has everything to do with saving travel size toiletries for trips where we end up getting more travel size toiletries.

I’m almost out of shampoo. If I schlep to the store for more, I will come home with more than shampoo. This is the time of year I have to fight the urge of ooooooooh I’ll buy that too it smells so pretty and springy in cold, gray Ohio. I better use what I have on hand.

Pin this post for reference!

Washing my hair every morning with the shampoo from fancier hotels is the lazy budget wau to get a spa treatment in my luxurious home spa (that means I put fresh towels in the bathroom.)

All I need to do is ask the Borrowers who live under my bed if any of them are a masseuse and I am set for life!
