Fortunately I haven’t had to use my thermal cooking pot to cook like that. I usually use it to start a meal and allow it to cook during a road trip or event so I have a hot and allergy safe meal waiting for me in the trunk of my car when we are done.

Otherwise you'll' have to get creative with bungee cords to keep the lid on your own cooking pot while it bounces around in the car in a hay box style cooker like I do.)
