How to Make Over the Cupboard Kitchen Organizers

I know I’m supposed to like having a decorating space on top of my kitchen cabinets. I tried hanging plates on the wall because that is what you are supposed to do in a kitchen, right?

I didn’t like it.

I tried groupings of doodads on top of the cabinets - meh.

I just can’t make it work.

Besides, what I really need is more storage in my small condo kitchen, not more doodads. A kitchen remodel isn’t in the plan this year. Moving to a bigger house is too much work. I need to find some space in the kitchen I have...

Like above the kitchen cabinets!

I couldn't find matching storage that fit above my kitchen cabinets and the ceiling. What I did find  cost an arm and a leg so I made my own! This is a super simple project anyone can do and get professional looking results.

DIY Washing Machine Cleaning Tablets

I like my HE (High Efficiency) front loading washing machine. It never smells moldy. I think I am an anomaly. I seems like the rest of the Internet has dirty and smelly washing machine issues and even more people need to lean how to clean their washing machines.

I have to be honest and admit, the only way I remember to clean the washing machine is when it starts to smell.  Thankfully that isn’t very often but boy oh boy do those washing machine cleaning tablets cost a pretty penny! A package of two Afresh tablets are almost 8 bucks a pop. The Tide washing machine cleaner tabs are a little less but I stay away from the Tide tablets because their detergent makes me break out.

Still, 4 dollars to clean a washing machine each month adds up. There has to be a cheaper way to clean a moldy washing machine that is just as lazy as popping a cleaning disk into the machine and turning it on.

Spicy Tuna Fish and Noodles Recipe

I’m not sure how I ended up with a pouch of tuna fish in the pantry.

It was something I regularly ate when I first set out on my own at the tender age of 18 because it was cheap. I can barely stand tuna fish salad now. I think I hit the lifetime limit.

Which is probably why I found it in the back of a cupboard.

It was lunchtime and I wanted something easy and quick. I started poking around the kitchen to look for ingredients that were not tuna salad or any way shape or form of tuna casserole.  I had a few little odds and ends in the refrigerator and I figured that this was a good opportunity to combine the ingredients into a recipe, throw it onto the wall, and see if it sticks.

A quick and easy lunch or cleaning out the pantry or both recipe!

Metaphorically specking. I do not recommend you toss cooked food onto the wall.

It is messy.

Let’s stir fry!
