Homemade Popsicles are all the rage in food circles this year. They blow those plastic tubes of neon colored sugar water Popsicles I grew up with out of the water!
Last week Mother Nature turned off the cold and turned up the heat to full blast. Ahhhh, a nice homemade frozen fruit bar would be refreshing in this weather.
I rooted around in the refrigerator to see what I had. Hidden from Husband the fruit piranha were a few packages of Naturipe Berry Quick Blueberry Snacks. They are blueberries packaged in snack size packages that resist smashability in lunch boxes, tote bags, and backpacks.
I tossed a couple of packages of Naturipe Berry Quick Snacks in my tote bag to avoid unhealthy and high priced snacks at the airport and on the plane on a recent business trip. They survived the security section because they are sealed instead of an easy to pop open plastic box (I also declared them before I went through) and riding around in my tote bag with my iPad. I opened the package after I checked into my hotel. Not one berry was smooshed during my five hour trip. Color me impressed!
Disclosure:Naturipe Berry Quick Snacks supplied me with samples to conduct this review. This did not have any influence on the nature of this review other than we enjoyed the blueberries so much that we bought more with our own money when we ran out. All opinions are my own and long time readers know I am very opinionated.

I officially declare 2011 The Summer of the Popsicle. It's a nice follow up to 2010 The Summer of the S'more.
My family discovered frozen fruit bars last summer. I felt better about serving a snack that is fruit and juice. It became spendy because a box never lasted more than a few days after I brought it home from the store.
Lo and behold, the winter holidays dropped a family gift of a set of BPA free plastic Popsicle molds down our chimney. Thanks, Santa me!

The packages are Number 1 plastic and easily recyclable - woot!
