Quick and Easy Corned Beef Hash Recipe

I had some leftover corned beef in the refrigerator that was too much for one person to eat and a bit too little to reheat and serve by itself for dinner. I also had a few potatoes in the pantry that I needed to use and decided to get these two crazy kids together and made corned beef hash for dinner! Quick and Easy Chocolate Hazelnut Icing Recipe

There are no limits to how  you use my Nutella frosting recipe. You can use  Nutella frosting to top your favorite cake, cookie, quick bread, brownie recipe or quite possibly just eat from the bowl by the spoonful (not that I know anything about that.)

One icing hack I have been using lately is instead of spreading icing onto a cake, cupcake, or brownies with a icing spatula (an icing spatula looks like this) is to use a pastry bag and tip like this as a quick, easy, and less messy way to ice my cakes, cupcakes, or brownies. It looks fancy and always seems to impress when in reality I’m taking the lazy way out of decorating baked goods. (Disclosure: I am including affiliate links in this post for your convenience.)

I love it when the quick and easy way is also the how to make food look fancy way.

Also I’m less likely to accidently stick my arm in a freshly iced baked good when I’m using a pastry bag rather than a knife, do there’s that.

As a heads up to my fellow dairy free friends, Nutella hazelnut spread contains milk ingredients - but not to worry! You can still enjoy the Nutella like love with a few dairy free swaps that I’ll note in the recipe below.

You will need the following ingredients:

2 Cups of confectioner’s sugar (more or less depending upon how thick/thin and sweet you like your icing to be)

1 Tablespoon of softened butter (or non dairy butter substitute)

2 Tablespoons of Nutella (you can buy Nutella here) or dairy free and vegan Nutiva chocolate hazelnut spread (you can buy Nutiva here)

1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla extract (use the real stuff like this kind here)

1/4 Teaspoon of salt

2 Tablespoons of water or milk

Step by Step How to Make this Recipe

1. Thoroughly combine and mix the hazelnut spread of your choice, powdered sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and salt in  a bowl. I use a basic hand mixer like this one but if you wan to use a spoon knock your socks off.

2. Slowly add the liquid to mixture until the icing is a creamy, yet firm in texture.

Tip: If you accidentally add too much liquid that makes the icing too runny, add a tiny bit of powdered sugar until you get the proper consistency.

3. Spread the homemade chocolate hazelnut frosting love on your favorite brownie, cake, or cookie recipe!
