Quick and Easy Corned Beef Hash Recipe

I had some leftover corned beef in the refrigerator that was too much for one person to eat and a bit too little to reheat and serve by itself for dinner. I also had a few potatoes in the pantry that I needed to use and decided to get these two crazy kids together and made corned beef hash for dinner! What Goes on Sale and What to Buy on Clearance in June

I like grocery shopping in June because not only is the fresh fruit rolling into the stores but it a heck of a lot better because it in season. Even better than that, being in season means you can buy it on sale.

I taught Husband that little less last week at the grocery store. He suggested we buy a bag of apples. The price was crazy money for out of season apples in June. However, berries and cherries are in season and affordable if you pay attention to June store sales. We bought berries instead.

Now I could take it a frugal step further if I had a big pantry or storage space by buying extra sale berries and use them to make homemade jam for cheap (get (get 19 of my favorite jam recipes here,) or freeze or dehydrate them for later when they are out of season and cost crazy money. We usually move on to whatever the next fruit is in season and on sale but you get the idea.

See how that works?

You can do the same money saving thing by buying other home goods and food on sale. Some items go on seasonal sale because it is the beginning or end of their model year, the start or end of a holiday, or they are trying to move seasonal merchandise to make room in the store for the next season. Many food associations celebrate their industry during a specific week, month or day and those products are guaranteed to be on sale. If you know you will have a future or current need, it could be worth your while to skim the weekly sales fliers before you dive in and buy.

For extra savings, pair the sale with a coupon from my printable online coupon database (affiliate link) because money saving coupons often follow national sales cycles too!

Of course just because something is in a store and on sale, doesn’t mean you have to buy it if you don’t need it or will use it. As an allergy sufferer I may keep an eye out for June National Headache Month specials but will most likely let any National Doughnut Day (June 6th) specials walk on by since I’d chose a nice rye bagel over a doughnut most mornings for breakfast.

So helpful! Visiting you from the thursday favorite things link up.
I can't wait for some cheaper prices for in season fruits. Watermelon were outrageously priced, although, it may just be the price for the "new normal." Thank you for linking up at Happiness is Homemade.
