Blueberry Yogurt Popsicle Recipe

Homemade Popsicles are all the rage in food circles this year. They blow those plastic tubes of neon colored sugar water Popsicles out of the water! I officially declare 2011 The Summer of the Popsicle. It's a nice follow up to 2010 The Summer of the S'more. My family discovered frozen fruit bars last summer. I felt better about serving a snack that is fruit and juice. It became spendy because a box of frozen fruit bars never lasted more than a few days after I brought it home from the store. Lo and behold, the winter holidays dropped a family gift of a set of  BPA free plastic Popsicle molds similar to these down our chimney. Thanks, Santa me! S’mores Fondue

Do you have anything special planned for Valentine’s Day? Sometimes Husband and I go out to eat. Other years, we stay home and try to cook something extra special and silly dance in the kitchen while making it.

This year looks like a dine in year because I’m still not feeling well   (in fact, it’s past 2:00 pm and I am still in my jammies as I write this post. I’m going to take a nap after I’m finished.)  If we had kids, I’d suspect this Valentine’s Day would still be a stay in year because Valentine’s Day is on a school night.

While we cook at home almost all of the time, Husband and I don’t usually make desserts unless we have guests or it’s a special occasion.

Valentine’s Day is a special occasion. And who doesn't miss making summer s’mores? ME! ME! ME! I DO! My friends at Aldi put them together to make S’mores Fondue dessert for Valentine’s Day! S’mores Fondue

You will need:


15 oz. chopped Milk or Dark Choceur Chocolate Bars
1 cup Friendly Farms Half & Half
Pinch Salt (less than ½ fourth teaspoon)
2 cups Baker's Corner Miniature Marshmallows
14  Benton's Graham Crackers
Strawberries, banana slices, and assorted fruit 



 Make it

1. Heat the half and half in a small saucepan over medium heat, and bring just to a boil.

2.Once boiling, reduce the heat to low. Then add the chocolate pieces and salt to the half and half. Whisk the mixture until the chocolate melts and it is smooth and creamy.

3.Transfer the mixture to a crockpot or fondue pot and keep it warm on low heat.

 4.Before serving, stir the miniature marshmallows into the chocolate mixture. As the mixture sits, the marshmallows will melt and the chocolate will thicken.

 5.Crush 2 graham crackers and sprinkle over the top of fondue mixture to garnish.

 6.Serve the fondue with graham crackers and your favorite fresh fruits for dipping.
