How to Make Vodka Watermelon - Everything You Need to Know Guide!

I wanted to make a vodka watermelon. Some people call it infuse a watermelon. Some people charge a watermelon. Whatever you it call it, it is the same thing. A 21 years and older watermelon filled with booze with a 50-50 chance of either coming out perfect or not infusing at all. I’m not trying to scare you out of a spiked vodka watermelon recipe. I’m letting you know up front, if your vodka watermelon didn’t work, keep reading this post to learn how to fix a drunken watermelon that won't absorb vodka on the first go round. Easy Pretzel Hot Dog Recipe

Whenever I serve hot dogs at a party I always run out of hot dog buns. Why is the hot dog to bun package ratio never the same?

Last weekend I headed off a potential hot dog bun shortage by making soft pretzel dogs. No buns required.

I normally don’t go for meals in a box but in this case it’s my party and I don’t want to spend all if it in the kitchen if I have to. I skipped making bread maker soft pretzel dough and used an Auntie Anne's At Home Baking Kit (affiliate link) The Balancing Act asked me to try out as a member of The Balancing Act Blogger Community.

Since I've already made regular soft pretzels, I decided to make something slightly different with the pretzel kit. I used it to make the dough for the soft pretzel dogs instead.

  • To keep the hot dogs from drying out during baking I slipped them into hot tap water while I rolled and cut the dough into one inch strips.

Strippy!

  • I wrapped the dough strips around the hot dogs.

Husband insisted we wrap some cheese filled smoke sausage with pretzel dough
in addition to the nitrate free hot dogs and veggies dogs we served.

  • I did a quick dip pf the wrapped dogs into a bowl of baking soda dissolved in hot water instead of the traditional dunk in boiling baking soda and water my bread maker recipe requires With the Auntie Annes Baking Kit, the nieces and nephews can help me in the kitchen. And they did. It's one of my super sneaky ways to get the picky eater nephews to eat my meals. They are more likely to try what they help cook. *evil mad scientist laugh*
  • Then I baked the pretzel dogs for five minutes. I pulled them out of the oven, gave the baking sheet a turn and baked them for another five minutes. The shorter than the twenty-five minute bread maker pretzel baking time makes the Auntie Annes Baking Kit my new BFF.

 Yummy!

The light fluffy pretzel hot dogs won raves from the vegetarian kid (I made veggie dogs for her), the picky eater kids, the not so picky eater kids, and the biggest kid of all, my husband.
I get to keep my title of World’s Most Fabulous Aunt for one more summer.

Booyah!
