Easy Danish Christmas Eve Rice Porridge (Risengrød) Recipe

For Christmas Eve dinner, families in Denmark start the meal by giving everyone at the table a small bowl of warm porridge topped with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar and a pat of butter on top called Risengrød (pronounced risen-groo with a hint of a d sound at the end.)  One lucky person at the table will find a whole almond in the bottom of their empty bowl and will win the almond gift – usually candy, marzipan, or other small treat.   Save this recipe to your Pinterest Boards for later! What Goes on Sale and What to Buy on Clearance in February

Most of my grocery shopping savings doesn’t come from using coupons. I save more money on food because I shop according to the seasonal store sales.

From high end heath food stores to low end conventional grocery stores, you can keep your family rolling in fresh fruit and vegetables for less because you are shopping during their national growing season. This is helpful for those of us who can’t buy locally grown good due to the winter ice and snow.

Shopping seasonally also saves money on household and big ticket items too. If you have a current or future need, now is the time to shop the February holiday sales for the following fresh fruit and vegetables, food, and household goods.

For extra savings, pair the sale with a coupon from my printable online coupon database (affiliate link) because money saving coupons often follow national sales cycles too!

I learned a good bit from this post. Thank you for teaching me how to save a little bit of funds in February. I didn't know it was National Hot Breakfast month.
