Join SoyJoy’s Healthy Eating Webinar

This week (or so we have been told!), the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans will be released.
I don’t know about you, but other than a couple of glances at the Food Pyramid, I’m not exactly sure WHAT the current Dietary Guidelines are. I know we should eat more grains and vegetables and less brownies but that’s it.

Flounder Spinach Pepper and Mushroom Bake

This is a guest post from my husband who I call Husband. Take it away sweetie!

I wrote down a recipe more or less. I almost never work from a recipe. I usually do a mental inventory of food we have in the kitchen and what should be used soon. From there I construct a meal in my head and that's dinner. I usually make sure I include meat, starch, and at least one vegetable.

Book Review: The Full Plate Diet

I hate diet books. They seem to work to reduce water weight at first. However, once you deviate from the menu plans because if you want to have spaghetti with spinach and red sauce for dinner instead the gruel the diet book calls for, the plan goes all pear shaped.

I met with Dr. Stuart Seale one of the authors of the Full Plate Diet at BlogHer last summer. We were chit chatting about healthy eating. He told me that many people don’t have a diet that includes lots of vegetables and fiber, unlike Husband and I. Yet again, I have a moment when I realize that I’m not like all of the other kids in school. Oops.
