A few years ago Husband wanted to build a gingerbread house.
Neither of us had cookie construction experience. We bought a kit. The results
were a little lack luster because I made the icing too runny. The best part of
our first gingerbread house was the candy solar panels.
BJ’s Wholesale Club asked
me if I wanted to redeem myself in the gingerbread house department. They said their kit might yield better
results because of the premixed icing and slotted tray that came with the kit.
The slotted stand and pre mixed icing made all the difference!
You know what, they were right!
Our gingerbread house!
Except for the part where I put one of the roof panels on
upside down and didn’t realize it until after the icing hardened. Fortunately, it
works with our design. We couldn’t decide wither to use gum drops or round
candy balls on the roof, so we did one panel each way.
Our cute little gingerbread house came with a gingerbread
sleigh and reindeer too!
Ho, ho, ho!
I can’t wait to bit the heads off the reindeer. Husband
called dibs on decapitating Santa.

Gosh it has been ages since I made a gingerbread house! That would be fun! Memories abound for Christmas- my favorite is more recent when our son surprised us by coming for Christmas a few years ago after we moved out of state.
ReplyDeletePicking up Christmas tree with my grandparents was sweet memories.

My favorite holiday memories as a child was when I truly believed in Santa and feeling the excitement and anticipation for his arrival.
